Upon her arrival at the London Upright Centre for her MRI scan, Rebecca’s nerves soon settled down once she met with the London Upright team.

“From the moment I stepped foot in the building I was welcomed in such a lovely, calming and supportive manner.”

Suffering from claustrophobia and an uncomfortable past experience during her last MRI, Rebecca had decided, this time around, to opt for an Upright MRI scan.

At the London Upright Centre, she was met by Farzana, one of the London Upright support team, who welcomed her in and looked after her throughout her visit.

“My nerves overcame my memory and I had no chance of remembering her name, but by then I had decided for the day her name was ‘Angel’. I know it sounds cheesy, but I can’t express enough how much her kindness, encouragement, support and professionalism meant to me.”

Rebecca soon met Eric, the sonographer and was instantly reassured by how kind and professional he was.

“Both Eric and Farzana made sure I felt in control the whole time and consistently reassured me throughout my visit.”

After her scan, Rebecca felt so relieved. Her visit to the Upright Centre had been so easy and relaxed, helped by the exceptional support she received from the London Upright team.

“The service, professionalism, kindness and support I experienced today was second to none. I cannot speak highly enough of my time with both Farzana and Eric and I think in a world that’s so quick to complain, it’s really important to celebrate and recognise the super stars out there, who really make a difference.”

Claustrophobia is a condition that affects around 12.5% of the population so it’s no wonder many people feel reluctant to book up an MRI scan. Opting for an Upright MRI scan, however, can help people like Rebecca bypass any anxieties and move forward confidently.

Upright Open MRI scanners can be the ideal choice for many people; particularly those who suffer from claustrophobia, anxiety or for those with difficulty in lying flat for long periods of time due to their size or mobility issues. Whilst in the weight-bearing state, the Upright scanner can move itself to a position whereby superior imaging of the targeted body parts can be captured.
